Excursions and site visits get new content and become much more rewarding when you have an expert guide telling you the hidden stories from the past and present.

Oulu Region Tourist Guides are at your service when your guests want to familiarize yourselves with the City of Oulu, Oulu Region, neighboring municipalities, their history and the present-day life.

You can book guided walks and guided tours by bus or by bike and they can be operated in different languages; Finnish, Swedish, English, German, French, Italian, Russian, Greek, Hungarian, Chinese and Japanese. We can also offer tour leading services for longer tours and transfers; our guide meets the group for example at the Oulu airport or railway station and takes care of the group during their whole visit in our region.

Oulu Region Tourist Guides are authorized by The Finnish Guide Association.

Guided Tours & Tour Leading Services

Guided bus tours

Today the people of Oulu design software, produce the finest cardboard in the world, do business all over the world and provide high quality services for each other and tourists.

This tour takes you to the river, seaside, marshlands and woods. You will visit the old and new monumental centres of Oulu, the sites of culture and technology. During the tour you will hear stories about tar merchants, ship builders, sea farers and salmon fishers during the history of Oulu.

Sightseeing tours by bus to neighbouring municipalities are also available!

Guided walking tours

A walk of an hour and a half – two hours takes you from the old monumental centre to the new one. The guide will tell you about the persons and events of the past, show you where the long narrow boats full of tar barrels landed and lead you to the old storehouses and to the market hall guarded by the statue of a policeman. You will be revealed the humorous stories behind this figure loved by everyone.

Price: 167 e/max. 2 hours, group size max. 25 persons per guide

You can book guided walks and guided tours by bus or by bike and they can be operated in thirteen different languages; Finnish, Swedish, English, German, French, Italian, Russian, Dutch, Greek, Hungarian, Chinese and Japanese. We can also offer tour leading services for longer tours and transfers; our guide meets the group for example at the Oulu airport or railway station and takes care of the group during their whole visit in our region.

Please note, our guides hold the copyrights for their own guiding and therefore all recording or photos of the guiding is prohibited.

Walking tour 167 €/group (2h, max. 40 persons)

Guided bus tour 414 €/group (2h, max. 50 persons)

Prices include guiding fee, guide booking and VAT 25,5 %. Bus tours including guiding, guide booking, bus and VAT margin 25,5/25,5 %. Invoicing fee 10e.

Minimum fee is for 2 hours. Possible entrance fees are not included.

Prices from Monday to Saturday are valid between 6.00-23.00.

Sunday fees are valid Sundays and Finnish public holidays between 00.00-24.00 and from Monday to Friday between 23.00 – 06.00.

40% fee increase for each additional language if the guide has to work on multiple languages at the same time.

If guiding starts or finishes at the airport, additional fee of 40 e will be added.

If guiding starts and finishes at the airport, additional fee of 80 e will be added.

CANCELLATION

Cancellation fee = minimum fees unless cancelled two business days before scheduled tour.
If the cancellation is done later or hasn’t been done at all full fees will be charged.
